Refund & cancellation policy.
Last updated: May 2026. This policy applies to 1:1 consult bookings made via malavikachitoor.com/book. By paying, you agree to the terms below.
Reschedule (free, anytime)
Plans change. You can reschedule your slot any time before the call at zero cost — open the Google Calendar invite you received after payment and use the "Reschedule" option. We'll see your new time on our side automatically.
Cancel >24 hours before the slot
Refund of ₹950. We deduct ₹50 to cover Razorpay's payment-gateway fee (which they keep on their end whether or not we refund) and a small admin charge for processing the request. Email puro@thetomtribe.com from the same email you used to book, with the subject "Refund — Malavika Chitoor — [your payment ID]". The Razorpay merchant account is shared across several projects, so the project name in the subject line helps the request get to the right place quickly. Refunds are processed via Razorpay and typically reach your account within 5–7 working days.
Cancel within 24 hours of the slot
No refund — Malavika has already blocked the time. But: you can reschedule for free to any slot within the next 30 days, no questions asked. Just email us, or use the calendar invite's Reschedule option.
No-show (you don't join the call)
If you don't join within the first 10 minutes of the slot and haven't messaged in advance, the slot is forfeit and there's no refund. We'll wait, but only that long. To rebook after a no-show, you'd pay again.
If Malavika cancels
If Malavika has to cancel for any reason (illness, emergency, anything), you get a full ₹1,000 refund — no ₹50 deduction applies because this isn't your fault — or a free reschedule. Your call. We'll always reach out by email at the address you used to book.
Tech issues during the call
If we lose more than 10 minutes of the 30-minute slot to connection problems on Malavika's end, we'll either extend the call to make up the time or schedule a second 30-min session at no extra charge.
How refunds are processed
Refunds are issued via Razorpay back to the original payment method. Razorpay typically takes 5–7 working days to settle the refund into your bank/card.
For customer-initiated cancellations (you cancel more than 24h before the slot), we deduct ₹50 from the ₹1,000 you paid — so you receive ₹950. The ₹50 covers Razorpay's payment-gateway charge (which they keep regardless of whether we refund) plus a small admin charge for processing the request.
For cancellations on our side (Malavika cancels, payment didn't go through cleanly, tech issue on our end during the call), you receive the full ₹1,000 back with no deduction — that ₹50 fee only applies when the cancellation is initiated by you.
